To the Members of the Rabbits section. April 2012
Now that the 2012 season is well underway a note from your captain.
Wonderful to see the high number of entries for last Saturdays Carter Cup and really good to see long term Rabbit Phil Drury playing so well and getting the win. Well done to the other top three finishers as well, a very close result. All your winnings are in the club shop with Nick. Please make sure you see them in the shop to confirm your prizes. Well done to all the birdie winners as well. A lot of you this week, but at least it paid for the entry fee for you if not generating enough for retirement. I hope you all enjoy the idea of the birdie comp, even if you feel you are out of the competition you still have a chance to win a small prize going up the eighteenth hole.
Please keep entering the competitions as this is a chance to win some prizes get your name on a trophy and on the winner’s boards in the club house. It also provides you with a way of keeping your handicap active and hopefully getting it down with some good play. There are now some more competitions on the board with the George Kent trophy coming up please enter if you can and invite the other half for the meal afterwards at the presentation. The winner of the event also qualifies to play in the Nelson Cup away at North shore later in the year.
It has been very pleasing to see the amount of players putting their names down to play in the first two rabbit’s team matches so far this year.Boston has managed to win both matches against North shore and Boston West with good results. Thank you to all the new players this year Dean Reynolds, Brian Grant, Ross Nichols and Will Sharp.
It is great to see them all and please put your names down; I will try to play as many people as possible in the matches and don’t forget you only have to play once to qualify for the Peter Langham Trophy at the end of the year.
The entries for the pairs and singles competitions are excellent thank you very much for that. But please don’t think you have to leave it to the end dates of each round to play them. Play them ASAP so you do not have difficulties getting them arranged when summer holidays start especially the pairs as it soon becomes difficult to arrange. It is up to all players to make the effort to contact and get played please. If you are having difficulties getting arranged for any reason please contact the committee before the dead line dates as loosing by disqualification is not what we want. It is all for fun.
We will keep the rabbits section of the web site and the boards in the clubhouse up to date as often as we can with competition results and any other interesting news. If any of you have any new ideas for the section or things you would like to see in the section please contact any of the committee with your ideas.
I look forward to seeing you all on the course and in the team. With the disappointed faces and the stories of if only!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rabbits Captain
Pete Keal.
