The Past Lady Captains' held their annual Luncheon with 30 Past Captains able to attend!

Charity Bridge Event - 26th March
Last Monday 26th March a fund raising Bridge event was held for the Captains' Charity "The Alzheimer's Society" organised by Ruth Street with 48 players taking part, directed by Sue Grey play recommenced after lunch and the days proceeding raised £458.80. First Prize was won by Janet Sharman and Katy Lishman scoring a magnificent 4,490 plus points.
Passion for Pearls
On Friday 16th March, the ladies of Boston Golf Club, friends and guests were both fascinated and greatly amused by Frances Benton as she portrayed her “Passion for Pearls”, the world’s only natural living gemstones. She delighted the audience with the history of pearls, going back over 5000 years and their association with wisdom, power, wealth and beauty. Finally, afternoon tea was served and a chance to purchase from a large range of pearl jewellery. The sum of £590 was raised and will go to The Alzheimer’s Society which is the joint Captain’s Charity for 2018.
13th December Ladies Christmas Lunch
The ladies section held their Christmas Lunch, after a delicious meal the Hampers were drawn and a cheque was presented to Lucy Dalgress the Regional fundraiser for Parkinson's UK. The charity was chosen by Lady Captain Kathleen Yates and Club Captain Ray Sharpe. Janet Read handed over the cheque on behalf of Kath Yates.

Ladies Committee 2017/2018
The ladies section held their AGM after playing a ten hole fun scramble competition on Wednesday, the winning team were Ruth Simpson, Jane Marriott and Yvonne Shaffarczyk coming in with a score of 35.8.
After lunch provided by the ladies section the AGM took place with Retiring officers Lady President Jane Bratley and Lady Captain Kathleen Yates handing over their badges to the incoming officers Ann Hodgson "Lady President" and Janet Read "Lady Captain" with Pam Clare the new Vice Captain.
The incoming Lady Captain announced her charity for the year will be Alzheimer's Society.

L.L.C.G.A Autumn Silver and Bronze Meeting
The L.L.C.G.A. held their Autumn Silver and Bronze meeting at Boston Golf Club on Monday 22nd August and 52 silver players set off in the morning playing singles strokeplay, with 19 bronze players following in the afternoon playing format a singles stableford.
The morning competition for silver players was strokeplay and Ann Hodgson came in to win the Brocklesby Cup for best nett.
This follows Ann´s win on Sunday when she took the top prize in the Lady Captains Day
Ladies Team Win Promotion
The Ladies league team captained by Jean Markham started this season in Division 4 South playing against Woodhall, Lincoln (Torksey) and Sleaford.
Both games against Woodhall were wins:- away 3 and 1 the home match 4-0
Lincoln (Torksey) losing the home match 4-0 winning the away match 2 1/2 - 1 1/2
Sleaford, winning the home match 3 1/2 -1/2 losing away at Sleaford 3 and 1
The Boston team are assured of going up into Division 3 South, the teams they will be playing have not yet been decided as all league matches haven't yet been played.

Ladies Past Captains Annual Dinner - 20th April 2017
Thursday The Ladies Past Captains' held their Annual Dinner with 27 Past Captains enjoying a delicious carvery of Turkey and Gammon with fresh vegetables and all trimmings followed by a fruit crumble or pavlova, Cheese and biscuits tea or coffee.
The Ladies enjoyed a talk from Keith Clifton who's Daughter Joanne with Ore Oduba won the Strictly Glitter Ball 2016, his son Kevin was runner up with Louise Redknapp, we were treated to some of the secrets behind the scenes. Lady Captain was able to hold the replica Glitter Ball the winner got to keep. The Afternoon was finished off with a scrumptious afternoon buffet.
The amount raised by ticket sales and raffle was £524.00 for Parkinson's UK - the charity chosen by the Lady Captain and Club Captain for 2017

After a delicious 3 course Christmas Lunch the Ladies held their Christmas Hamper Draw.

£332.00 was raised for the Ladies section.

Wednesday 23rd September - Military March and New Captain and Presidents Take Over.
Anne Wallhead takes over as the New Lady Captain and Jane Bratley the new Lady President . The New Committee was formed at the Ladies AGM after Ladies played a military March over ten holes, the winning team was Judith Flevill, Chris Sherriff and Anne Sutton with 38 stableford points. second place going to Pam Hyde, Jean Markham and Yvonne Shaffarczyk with 35 pts.
Hilary Calvert Supporting The Boston Breast Unit
A cheque for £1,528 was presented to " The Boston Breast Unit Pilgrim Hospital" by Lady Captain Hilary Calvert her chosen charity for the year.. the photo shows breast care nurse Lizzie Chester, Hilary Calvert and Cheryl Drayton receiving the cheque surrounded by some of the Boston Lady members.
Monday 21st September - Nelson Trophy Victory for Pam Hyde
Pam Hyde playing in the Lincolnshire Veteran Ladies, Autumn meeting stableford at Market Rasen won with a resounding victory over the rest of the field, her 38 points, 5 clear of the runner up was more than enough for her to bring home the Nelson Trophy.
Friday 18th September - Macmillan Coffee Morning and Match
20 mixed teams battled it out for the Macmillan Cancer support match play now a yearly event combined with "We are Macmillan Cancer Support" coffee and cakes morning The Lady Captains team v The Gents Captains team, each side having 10 pairs. This year standing in for Mr Captain, was Vice Captain Tony Miller who took his team to victory winning the trophy for the year finishing with 7 1/2 to 2 1/2 over Lady Captain Hilary Calvert's team. The Charity was the real winner £1000 was raised by the event. The picture shows left to right, Fred and Hilary Calvert, Yvonne Wright and Tony Miller.
