C Team V South Kyme at Home 8th July
A beautiful sunny day and a course in great condition welcomed our visitors from South Kyme, A massive difference to last year at this time when the match was cancelled because the course was water logged.
A great days play took place with lots of banter between the two teams with Boston using home advantage and the trees to record a 4.5 to 1.5 win.
Jamie Hicks and Darren Scoot having no Hickups and Scooted to the best win 8 and 7.
A good win for Julian Miles and Keith ( My putts saved the hole ) Kilbourn 5 and 4
The other matches being a lot closer. The South Kyme Captain thanked the club for the day´s hospitality and the great condition of the course.
No Joy this year in the Nelson Cup
After a great run in the Nelson Cup Boston finally saw their dominance come to and end at Seacroft on 25th July.
On a dry but windy day, especially on the front 9, many players from all sides struggled with medal play being the order of the day. Some of the course bunkers took their toll on the scores and the home side made the most of their course knowledge to secure victory and win the trophy for the first time since 2005. Seacroft ended up winning very comfortably with Boston having to settled for third place behind North Shore who faired slightly better.
Final scores Seacroft 428 Northshore 443 Boston 448
C Team V Sleaford Away 17/6/17
On a very hot and sunny day a very tight match ensued between the two sides . The first two games being all squared with Captain Pete getting a birdie on the 18th to win the hole and halve the match. John Chilchrist made a par on the 18th to win the hole and halve the second match as well. Other matches were very close all apart from the last game with a huge win for the home team, With Keith "My put shaved the hole" Kilbourn loosing out 8 and 6 with his partner. The overall match being won by Boston 4 and 2 a great result for the team.

C Team v Laceby Manor at home - 6/5/17
A new club and team arrived at Boston for the first time when the C team played host to Laceby Manor. A very competitive game took place , with 4 of the games only being decided by one hole.
The other two games were both 4 and 3 one a defeat for Steve Sizer and Paul Keal. The other a win 4 and 3 for Captain Pete Keal and Terry Sims. Raising the question is the captain picking his partners after taking the money two weeks on the trot or is it the Captain playing well and carrying his partners, future weeks will reveal the answer.
Laceby Captain Ian Johnson spoke for his team when saying they had all had a great day and the hospitality has been brilliant. Ian also added how they are already looking forward to playing the course again next year.
Another win for Boston with a final result of 4 - 2
C Team V Sleaford at home - 29/4/17
Saturday 29th April. Played in good sunny conditions and a course of top quality were the comments from the Sleaford players.
The Captain for the day was Ed Markham but unfortunately with his playing partner Keith ( my putts shaved the hole ) Kilburn they could not set the tone for the team loosing 4 and 3 .
Fortunately the rest of the team did not take the Captains example and all won the final score being 5 - 1 to Boston. The highest score taking the spoils was Steve Sizer and Pete Keal 5 and 3.
A special thanks to Fred Fairman who stepped in at the last minute on the day and winning 2 and 1 with partner Trevor Emberton.
C Team V Seacroft at Home - 22/4/17
C team played Seacroft at Home and the final result was a three / three draw.
A very tight match with three of the matches being won by one hole on the 18th.
The last match decided the game when Pete Keal and Ross Giller lost when Michael Mushing chipped in on the 18th from off the green for a par with the Boston pair getting 5s. The hole and match was lost by 1 hole meaning the teams drew 3 3.
Home wins for Boston from Geoff Richardson and Zak Watson 8 / 7 and Russ Delahoy and Dave Sutton winning 4 and 3.
A good day by all and some Seacroft players were saying the course is currently as good as they have ever known it to be with all the greens being very consistent on putting.
